A fun and fast passed historical - I will be picking up book 3 immediately. 
Having said that, this instalment wasn’t  my favourite. I love Lillian and her fiesty spirit, but there are some parts of the romance dynamic which were seriously flawed. There are sexual scenes where the heroine has not and cannot give consent.

Many readers rightfully have issues with this book. I understand those issues, but this remains one of my favorite examples of grumpy/sunshine romance. I listened to the audiobook which was updated in 2021 to remove some of the objectionable scenes, and I wish greater care had been taken in their removal - including rewriting those scenes instead of simply removing them.
