I struggled to follow the characters at time and had to go over some sections again. I think that was more down to me not concentrating that they way the book was written. I enjoyed the the characters and was shocked by the bombshell that I didn’t see coming.

It made consider my friendship group and how we have changed and will co time to change in years to come.

A good read!

A weekend of three old friends that retraces their connection and reminds them what bound them together and how life has drawn them apart.

A story about the intimacy of long term friendship, the things left unsaid and the assumptions you make when you’ve known each other too long. It’s about what happens when the glue that held you together seems to have gone. These women are all flawed but real. Uncomfortable at times, but authentic too.

Um, this book was ok? Wood is a very talented writer and I enjoyed a story about female friendship in an overlooked demographic (ie older women) but I did find it a little tedious overall. I understand the ways in which the people you love the most can also irritate you the most, but I felt like the foundations of their friendship weren't painted clearly enough and for a lot of this book it just read like three boomer women who really dislike, resent and judge each other. It really only turned the corner on this towards the end when we saw more of their loyalty and care for each other, but I needed it earlier on to understand their motivations.
