A really lovely book in portraying your 20s, it felt reassuring to me to hear someone else talk about the importance of friendships instead of other relationships. I did find the narrative a little difficult to follow timeline wise sometimes but that is probably more due to me listening to it instead of reading it. I loved the portrayal of platonic love and did sometimes wish there was less about romantic relationships and more about friendships but that's quite subjective.
Would definitely recommend reading this book.

The Bridget Jones diary style of the majority of the book isn’t really for me, but I enjoyed the last chapters of reflection in particular. I think this book would be most relevant for a woman in their late 20s or 30s to read, so I might read it again in a few years.

This book hit almost every emotion: sad, funny, hopeful, encouraging - but most of all touched what love actually means: not just the hopeless romantics you see in film, the one night stands of your teenage/early twenties, or long term relationships, but  true love that comes in friendships and meeting new people and going to new places and everything in between. the intermittent recipes and emails took some getting used to and I found it a little slow towards the middle, but by the end I couldn’t put it down. While the stories in here definitely hit home as a teenager, I can see this book being even more poignant the older I get.

I didn't hate it. some of the topics touched on were relatable and important to me but they were explored on such a surface level that it didn't bring me any particular enjoyment or insight. the writing style was too forced and stacked with bad metaphors. this is a book written from the worst of white feminist perspectives, privileged, naive and boring while aiming to offer somewhat political takes lol

Read 130 pages but can’t really remember anything significant that happened. Aside from the fact that she’s an alcoholic, sex obsessed, toxic friend. Also noticed that she likes to travel without enough money and expects people to just save her.

The few chapters that stood out were the one with the wedding (but i can’t even remember it now LOL), the one with her therapist, and the chapter that followed it. She became a good friend to Farly as she matured, and realized she didn’t need a man. That’s the only good things that happened LOL

I was ready to DNF this book but gave it another chance. I thought it was getting better towards the end, but then ended up getting boring again. LOL. Also, what’s with all the page fillers? We don’t need recipes and lists and fake emails.
