Trying to be progressive but so obviously written by a white person. Like. Uriah is a racially ambiguous enough name I didn't prepare myself enough despite the fact black people weren't really.. represented in the 1800s author field. Uses too many exclamation marks and capitalised words, an interesting plot written with no nuance, depth or understanding of the themes it's tackling, thats full of outdated language (to be expected, but more uncomfortable when the story isn't good enough to redeem the book a bit) and is written like a Wattpad fanfic. Not even wanky enough to be AO3. The writing style of a 2nd grader. Just watch Sinners or something, man. Would be nice if someone did this idea better. Sorry Uriah Derrick D'arcy, but maybe you should've revised this before publishing it.
