This collection of 12 short stories was first published in 1934, the publication date has to be borne in mind with all Agatha Christie's books, for the language used, the historical background, the technological era or lack of, etc. The stories range from mystery, romance, theft, hatred, revenge, murder... Each has fewer characters than in the novels but they do still have some unexpected turns. Though not one of my favourite books by the Queen of Crime, I still enjoyed reading these short stories.
