I think if Swanson was going to make a sequel to this book, making it almost like a spin-off was the right decision. Where it has ties to KWK but has its own story to tell. That being said, the story it had to tell did not intrigue me as much as the first book, regardless of how much I liked the writing itself

I was not a huge fan of this book. It was rather slow in my opinion. What’s weird is I really liked the character Henry Kimball. I pretty much felt every other character was unlikable. It’s a decent mystery, but not for me. Give it a shot if you are a Peter Swanson fan!
Graphic: Bullying, Death, Infidelity, Self harm, Violence, Murder
So similar to the first book in the series that it felt repetitive and unimaginative.

Idk how to feel about this one. 🤔 it was slow in the beginning and it didn’t necessarily “pick up”, but it did get interesting when another character entered the mix. At first, I was like “who the hell are you?”, but then it made sense. Lily reminds me of Arya from GOT and how she kept a list of those she wanted to kill. People she believed “deserved” it, like on the show “Dexter”.
I just finished watching both of those series, so don’t mind me. 😅
