I didn’t care for this one. The Kind Worth Killing was a page-turner, but this one felt way too contrived. A lot of the story just didn’t make sense. The behavior of characters and the way some of them interacted didn’t seem realistic. I’d still recommend the first, but I’d say pass on this one.

Peter Swanson’s book are consistently excellent and this was no exception, but I regret not reading The Kind Worth Killing first. Hadn’t realised this was a sequel (of sorts) until I was pretty far in, so I did end up skimming fairly large sections on the book.

Not as good as the first and wish we knew more about how on earth Henry & redacted end up how they end up. But I’m so glad I ended the year with the sequel to the book that got me back into reading a year ago

The school shooting parts of this book were very hard for me to read but it was a great sequel to the first book. Can’t wait to read the last part of this series!
