dark mysterious medium-paced

Not quite as chilling as the Kind Worth Killing, but still intriguing from the first page. Some fun surprises for fans of the first book!

It was okay but not as good as the first book. There was a lot of references to the first book and it was such a long time ago that I was confused and didn’t remember the story and exactly what happened. I had to do some Google searching for plot summaries to refresh my memory! The two characters with the same name was intended to throw off the reader but it wasn’t necessary.

I loved the first book so much that this one was a bit of a let down, but as a stand-alone, this was still a great book. My rating of it is like 3.7. Maybe a solid 4 if it could have truly been a stand-alone.

Listened to mainly audiobook for this one. Slow start. Picked up at about 30%  in. Was waiting for more about Lilys dad bc i know theres something dark there but not much, maybe in the third book…?
