This book got me out of a multi-month reading slump. For reference, I am an upper YA reader. This story had the perfect amount of romance in the subplot, while also keeping the story focused on the main plot. I love how we got a chapter from other character's POVs. Faith's POV may have been one of my favorites to learn about a character, but I sobbed during Emmet's. This book was great and I can't wait for the second book to come out! 🌹💔

I had high hopes for this book, but I was very disappointed. I read so many good reviews for it and decided to give it a try. I definitely regret it; it was just so underwhelming. I didn't like the characters at all! I remember like every characters name, but the main female character. Which really shows how uninterested I was in this book. The plot was boring and predictable, the characters were boring, the romance was lackluster, and the conversations/banter was boring. The pace was so slowww, like literally nothing exciting happened until the last few chapters of the book. It felt like a teenager wrote this. I would never recommend this book to anyone.
