I have had this on my shelf for months and finally got it and I had so much fun!
This is a story with the wicked faeries who find joy in hurting and toying with humans, and it does it well. I found the plot was very predictable, but it was fun in spite of that.
I really enjoyed the characters, and there are moments of real sadness for them.
The ending does definitely make me want to know what's going to happen next!

The Rose Bargain was a quick simple read. It's a house of horrors, games of deceit, and a commentary on the responsibility children feel to their families. I appreciated the loose reminder to stand against rules set for the enjoyment of others and complexity of our actions. Overall, this story gave the feeling of a prequel or introduction to a sequel and set the stage for a story that might allow for deeper world building.

3.5 stars, audio read: This was a fun listen, especially as someone who enjoys both Bridgerton and romantasy. It gave Once Upon a Broken Heart vibes to me. Will listen to the second when it comes out next year!
