This is the first book in a fantasy series that’s set in a world similar to ours but with a different reality. Queen Mor is a faerie who’s been ruling Britain since The War of Roses. She’s been making ā€˜bargains’ with a cost with the people she rules. Most people are unhappy with the cruelty of the queen, but she’s immortal, so there’s no end in sight to her reign. Then she announces that her faerie son is to get married and will select a bride from the debutants that year. This is set up as a contest similar to ā€œThe Bachelorā€ mixed with ā€œSurvivorā€ vibes. I was a bit disappointed and let down by the author. I was hoping for a grand finale that would set up the next book. But instead it went off the rails and ended abruptly, leaving a lot of questions unanswered. I did like some of the characters, and it was a quick read. But it just fell apart in the end. It felt disjointed and I felt blindsided by the weird twist the story took.

i was entertained enough. i loved how the fairy queen toyed with them and how it was described in the book. loved the turn of events. the writing now and then was abit different than what im used to.. but the story was good and for that a 4 stars!

I speedrunned this book. The book is written in an easy-going way, easy to digest. Every chapter is filled with ā€œactionā€ which made the book difficult to put down.

Ivy is such a caring character that it’s difficult to hate her. It was quite predictable but nonetheless I still enjoyed the book very much. The scenery was beautifully explained and I could vividly imagine the setting.
I hated Bram just because of his name. And he still annoyed me until the end of the book. He was frigging FAKE. Nobody can walk around happy 24/7, such a
