A perfect mix of The Cruel Prince and Bridgerton. The audiobook was really good, and the story itself was enthralling all the way. I thought it was a standalone, but it’s not, it’s the first in a duology, so I didn’t see the cliffhanger coming which made it all the better to be honest. I did see coming the plot twist, but it was good enough still. Can’t wait to read the next one, this is the most similar book I’ve read in a long time to The Cruel Prince vibes and I’m here for it

This is the book for millennials who re-read Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine over and over again. This will be such a satisfying book talk to kids in my library: elements of Hunger Games, The Cruel Prince, The Selection, and Red Queen. So satisfying.
