Incredible read! Was hooked from chapter 1, and I hope book 2 comes out soon! It was kinda tame, but so are The Selection and The Cruel Prince, so this was well described. Truly love the twists at the end, I only had one slight suspicion, but other aspects were definitely surprising. Would definitely recommend!

I really liked the premise of this story and loved the era that it was set in. Unfortunately I feel like the plot was lacking some depth and I think it needed more world building for the Underworld aspect, especially because this is a main aspect towards the end-maybe that part will come in the second book. All in all I was never that enthusiastic to pick up the book, but still enjoyed it while I was reading it.
the selection x the cruel prince is a very accurate way to describe this book! i had a fun time with this world and these characters. ivy and emmet both felt like pretty standard main characters, but i liked how twisty the story was, and the idea of making bargains with the queen played out well. i wasn’t as heavily invested in the other girls as i would have liked to be, but i did appreciate the few chapters we got from their povs. the ending had me on the edge of my seat, and i’m definitely intrigued to find out what happens next!
