What a scorching hot forbidden mafia romance! I enjoyed reading every single page of Her Mafia Bodyguard by J.L. Beck and C. Hallman, and recommend it to all romance enthusiasts with a penchant for dirty-talking, grumpy, dominant, possessive and protective alphaholes with lickable abs and steel gray eyes. The bickering, bantering, the back and forth between Mia and Zeke was hilarious, but the angst… Well, that was delicious. My only complaint is that the epilogue was too short and too close to the actual story’s timeline. I really hoped to read further into their future. Nevertheless, a great read

Mia and Zeke's story is a dark mafia bodyguard age gap romance. The story has a good pacing, the story is good, yet I felt that it was a bit overdone, the characters are good, I liked Zeke, his past and way he had to interact with Mia was interesting. Overall I enjoyed it but felt a bit flat for me from this authors I love to read. The angst and darkness in their stories is what I love, and so I will look forward to the next one.

Mia is a recent high school graduate who just found her father. Her father found her after her mother died and took her in. Zeke works for Mia’s father. You don’t really know what he does, but when Mia comes he becomes her personal bodyguard. Mia’s father tells her she is going to college and Zeke is going with her. They are forced to live together.
This book was so good. I really enjoyed it and the smutt was excellent. Zeke is a tough man but takes his job seriously. Mia is a strong woman who has struggled most of her life and now has all these new rules and expectations that are expected of her all of sudden so she is naturally angry about it.

Mia only finds out who her father is and alive after her mother passing. He has money she thinks everything will be better since her mother and her struggles and she doesn’t really realize her father has not so great fatherly intentions for her. Zeke is her 24/7 bodyguard that her father puts on her to ‘protect’ her (virginity mostly).
Mia has an attraction for Zeke but after coming on to him at her HS graduation she isn’t very thrilled that he is following her to Uni. Zeke as attracted as he is does what he can to protect himself and Mia all while knowing her fathers plans for her.
Zeke and Mia’s love story is something I haven’t read before but it didn’t feel like it was a brand new concept. I loved the banter between the two even though the build up and spice was meh for me. For me this is a 3.5 star and 2.5 chili pepper. I didn’t love it but also not the worst book I read I’d definitely recommend to someone that isn’t looking for much spice and likes a slower story that is mafia with no real triggers though it does contain some unsavory acts.
