It was a quick easy read. The stories were mostly pretty interesting. The thing I found challenging was trying to make all the stories align. They were all over the place which is usually okay, but these stories don’t come together to make a complete picture or story, they were very disjointed.

Even in the shorts stories where I didn’t care for the short story itself there were parts that moved me or made me laugh even if I didn’t like the sum of its parts. I am excited to see where the author goes in future works and I think any child of immigrants and especially other Latines would enjoy this short book.
