i fucking hated this book. the writing style is terrible and the plot is extremely difficult to follow. i couldn’t wait for it to be over

I cannot praise this novel enough. I will not give a full review here for those who have not read it as even if you are a fan of the film adaptation (which I am), upon reading the novel you will find that it far surpasses all expectations. A must read for any book list!

tbh once i found out about the "crime" that was committed i wasn't really that interested in finding out what happened next. the writing was beautiful, i just wasn't that curious about the plot
"the cost of oblivious daydreaming was always this moment of return, the realignment with what had been before and now seemed a little worse"
