kinda toxic relationship, too much push/pull for me, still cuteish but nothing too special, too many toxic relationships (romantic, platonic, familial)

Dammit i really wanted to like this book but everything they did irritated me and made no sense. I mean sneaking out somewhere during ava and oakley’s engagement and being surprised you two getting caught? Have some respect

3.5*** i thought the last 30% of this book was great. kept me on my toes and i’m excited to read the next one. with that being said, the beginning (the whole first two thirds) was not my favorite. it’s an age gap trope, but you don’t find out how far apart in age they actually are until literally 60% through the book (infuriating). also wasn’t a fan of how their relationship came to be and the fact that her brother got over it so quickly. i think their relationship should’ve started in a very different way to show he actually cares about his friendship but whatever. on top of all that, she seemed reallyyy desperate at the beginning of the book. it felt like a teenage crush that wasn’t reciprocated. idk it was okay

I genuinely lost track of the amount of times I uttered the phrase “this dude needs therapy” while reading this book.

I get the tortured hero from a traumatic background archetype…but the amount of times this dipshit did things he actively knew would hurt people before excusing his actions on his traumatic childhood that he’s never sought therapy for was really starting to piss me off.

Then there was the FMC who was described as feisty and yet acted like a literal doormat for anyone she “cared about” to walk all over her and often end up with HER apologising when they’d lashed out at her (including trauma boy)

It’s a wonder I didn’t DNF this one, but honestly this seems like a time when I can say with all confidence, in reality this couple would have been filing for divorce in the first 5-10 yrs

Oof, this was an emotional one

This book was an emotional one for sure, but so so good!

I absolutely adore Gracie and her take-no-shit attitude. She’s exactly who Tyler needed.

Tyler….man do I connect with him. Addiction and the ripples of growing up in that environment are something I can relate to. Generally the kind of addiction and behaviors Hannah touched on in this book are triggers for me, but there was something in the way that she wrote it that make it more bearable for me. But, please check in the trigger warnings if it’s something that could possibly effect you.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll keep praising her every time. I love how Hannah writes a story. There is drama and emotional connections and things the main characters need to overcome, but without the miscommunication or third act break up.

And now on I Adams’s story with

I hate brothers best friend and don’t know why I continue to try and put myself through it 🙄🙄

Omg, this book had my heart beating so fast! What a beautiful story! Tyler was just perfect, and Gracie? She was the piece he was missing in his life. One of the chapters wrecked me, but the author put me Back together. This book follows Tyler’s struggle to leave his insecurities and his background behind and give in into the feelings he has for Gracie. Gracie is patiently waiting for Tyler to wake up and accept what they could have. Tyler is apprehensive, since this is his best friend’s little sister and there’s an age gap. He doesn’t want to lose the only family he has ever known. However, after their group vacation in Mexico, he is having a hard time resisting the temptation that Gracie, the spit fire is. I love their story so much, the twists and uncovered truths, it was just perfect. I continue to recommend this whole series. The audiobook was excellent
