Fox Trap by Margo Bond Collins starts off with a dangerous chase. Collins gives us both characters point of view as they both look at each other as a dangerous species. One is not who they think they are and the other is a complete surprise. Collins leaves us with a potential for a spin-off, but also leaves us with a happy ending for now. There is no booty call, but it was close (laugh). I would love to see where Mary ends up because she is a badass now, but I think Collins has the potential to make her so much more. This story is a great way to end the book.

I know, I know...why did I start with a story with a story that ends the book? Y’all know I do not read anthologies from page one on. I let my finger blindly pick. (laugh)

Amidst subterfuge, threats of death, and betrayal, walks a woman clothed in nudity and prepared for battle. Arielle Marie turns men’s heads and their ability to think, fight, and walk with her character Siv in Tournament of Reckoning, “A Netherworld” story. I started laughing when I heard of her battle armament. Holy sugar. Then most of the fighters have one dragon and she has 10. Badass is not the word for it. I love this character. There is a mention of flirtation between a competitor and Siv, but I did not see any flirtatious actions from Siv - just a lot of wishful thinking on Rand’s part. Overall, great action scenes and awesome heroine.

Death never looked so good in the Banshee’s Kiss written by Ellen Mint. I wish this had been a full novel as I loved Morgan’s story. I think an action adventure book of just her exploits would be a fun read. I do not want to give anything away, but there is something she mentions in her backstory that I think would make a great book on its own. Give her sidekicks and there you go. This is how much I love this story. (laugh).
