"It's the questions we can't answer that teach us the most. They teach us how to think. If you give a man an answer, all he gains is a little fact. But give him a question and he'll look for his own answers." [p. 558]

"Teccam said the same thing: no man is brave that has never walked a hundred miles. If you want to know the truth of who you are, walk until not a person knows your name. Travel is the great leveler, the great teacher, bitter as medicine, crueler than mirror-glass. A long stretch of road will teach you more about yourself than a hundred years of quiet introspection." [p 852]

I'm really torn with these books. I really like them when the story seems to be moving. However, the in between stuff starts as interesting and the slowly becomes painful due to the sluggish pace. Not to mention the predictable turn of events. e.g. Kvothe just came into a good position and things are finally starting to look up. Oh. Nope. Tragedy falls and Kvothe has nothing left back to square one.

I want to read the next book just yo have completion. But, I don't know if I can trudge through the mire only to learn that in the end he loses everything and tragically dies.

I just have more questions now. Though I am very excited for the third one.

(Tempted to give this 4 stars purely based on the fantastic writing, but alas no.)

Siendo breve...
...

I liked this book a lot, just as I did the first in the series. However, I felt like particular parts were way too drawn out when others were way too short. There were times were I would read for hours on end and tubes were I would go weeks without reading it at all.

I found it comedic and loveable. Quirky and captivating.
