I absolutely adored this one! The premise was so interesting to me, and I loved all the traveling Lexie and Theo did in the book. Lexie was hurt, a little lost, and trying to make the best of it. I felt for her, and I rooted for her to find herself and her place. Theo was a bit abrasive in the beginning, but he had his own issues to sort out. I respected the way he owned up to his mistakes. I liked the way he and Lexie spoke to each other after getting over their initial dislike. Their banter was hilarious at times. Ange, Harry, Mike, Fran, Rachel, and Lexie’s mom added such depth and heart to the story. The scenery descriptions made me feel like I was right there with Lexie. The plot unfolded beautifully and held my attention well. The slight miscommunication towards the end was frustrating but it fit the situation and characters. The ending was perfect, and the epilogue tied a nice little bow on the story for me.

I really enjoyed this book. Seasonal books, Christmas books in particular, can often be cheesy or fall flat for me but this one did not. I really enjoyed that the story started and ended in the winter but encompassed the whole year. At first I was scared that the romance would be insta-lovey but it was quite the opposite. I liked the story more and more as it progressed.
The biggest issue for me was Lexie throughout the book. At times her attitude was so negative and she was so stubborn that I felt the story couldn't move along properly. However, a big theme of the book is how people can change and she is very self aware in these moments. I think for me it just took a little longer for her to begin making necessary changes. I absolutely adored Theo. I would honestly love to get to know the rest of the characters in this book a little better like Harry for example.
Overall I thought this was a great story from the family dynamics, to a sort of found family, to the romance, to the personal growth. It got deeper than just a fluffy romance and I really enjoyed that. The characters and situations felt real and relatable. Great winter read!
