I have a hard time when contemporary enemies to lovers are just flat out mean to each other, and that's exactly what was going on here. Lexie and Theo instantly hated each other, and they were both extremely rude and condescending. I also struggled with the fact that Lexie had an awful relationship with her dad, and Theo seemed to love the man like his own father. I realize there's probably more to the story later in the book, but I felt like it was going to be hard to reconcile the father's abandonment of his wife and child with the supposedly amazing relationships he had with his coworkers.

Ohhhhh what a good sloooooooowwwww burn (🔥🔥🔥), enemies to lovers holiday read A Winter Wish by Emily Stone was.  Lexie is never in one place long, and loves to travel the world doing odd jobs here and there.  That is, until she gets a phone call from her mom that her father (who she doesn’t speak to and has a very complex relationship with) has passed away and left her half of his travel agency – with his business partner Theo getting the other half.  At first Lexie is very reluctant to have anything to do with the company and Theo, but as she starts to question things about her relationship with her father and half-sister she starts to come to many realizations about herself and her relationships.

I’m a sucker for a well done slow burn, and Emily Stone really milked the slow burn out of this book – I just love when you can see two characters come together at the right time and see the relationship develop.  The animosity between Lexie and Theo was palpable and boy did they explode when the enemies finally became lovers – lots of squealing because man I’m pretty sure I have said this already but it was a slow burn.  Overall, I really liked this book.  It’s definitely not just fluff, and dealt with some bigger issues like parental abandonment and expectations, but in a way you could really see growth in both Lexie and Theo.  Also, all the “holidays” they went on throughout this book really made me want to get on an airplane and go somewhere 🛫!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided to me through NetGalley.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.  Thank you to Emily Stone and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine | Dell for giving me the opportunity to read this book!

This was a warm and fuzzy read. I liked the character’s although Lexie’s anti-commitment issues drove me crazy.  Why did nobody call her on it?!?  The premise of R&L was fun.  But I think I would have liked for there to be more Rachel moments and had that relationship explored more.  Or a climax moment with Jody and Lexie!!!

I absolutely love reading Emily Stone’s holiday books because they always tug at your heartstrings while taking you on an emotional journey. Love, Holly was one of my all-time favorites, so naturally, I had high expectations for A Winter Wish and couldn’t wait to read it. While it wasn’t bad by any means, it didn’t quite have the same magic for me—it was just okay.

Will I continue to read and eagerly anticipate the author’s future books? Absolutely! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

4.5⭐️s Releasing 10/15!!! Can we get the audiobook asap because I need to have Theo’s Irish accent. Loved the banter and tension between Lexie and Theo. But also the growth for both characters.

Lexie’s estranged father has passed away, and left her half of his traveling company. The other half is left to his young executive, Theo. Like oil and water, it’s a rough start to the year they have to work together. The goal for Lexie: earn a profit and get out of there. Theo’s goal: get rid of this girl that wants nothing to do with the company.

However, as she is more involved, she sees the beauty in the niche market of holiday travel. Not just traveling to these places but immersing in the culture of these countries holidays. One night in Spain dancing might just change everything. Can Lexie find a way to plant roots. Can Theo trust her to stay. And what happens when it seems they will mix business with pleasure.

Thank you so much to @emstonewrites @netgalley and @dellromance for the advanced reader copy.

such a cute grumpy/sunshine romance. this book was so easy to read and fall in love with the characters. when lexies estranged dad suddenly passes away he leaves her half of his traveling business. with one condition- it has to be run with theo his protege for one year and then they can either keep it together or sell the company. this book takes you through lexies struggles to forgive her dad meanwhile learning the ropes of the business and working with her mortal enemy theo and getting to know him and love him.

Emily Stone always does a good job of blending together some deep emotions into a Christmassy feeling book. Per usual, this book has grief and mistrust woven into a traveling holiday story!

Lexie and Theo jointly inherit a travel company from Lexie’s late father, focused on holiday traditions around Europe. Both had very different relationships with Richard, who started the company and don’t see eye to eye on where it is headed.

I loved the traveling all over for various festivals and now I’m in the mood to check some of these out! The miscommunication during the third act was a little frustrating but I still enjoyed the storyline.

Thanks to @netgalley for this ARC!
