Lexie is happily working for a family in Austria, when she receives news that her father has died. Her father grants her half sister, Rachel, his home in Bath. To Lexie, he leaves half of his travel business. The other halt going to his employee Theo. However, there are stipulations as to how and what Lexie and Theo can do with the business. Lexie is at first resistant to taking part in the operation of the business, but slowly comes around to the idea.
This is a slower moving book and the story unfolds over months. The story is not strictly for winter or holiday reading. I skimmed through the last 25% of the book.
A decent book, but I have liked earlier books by Emily Stone more.
I received an advanced reader copy of A Winter Wish from NetGalley.

I think I have a soft spot for Emily Stone after reading Always, In December a few years ago. She always makes a winter/Christmas book that is rich with interesting characters and a sad but happy ever after plot, which I am a sucker for. This book was no different. I do feel like it didn’t read much as a Christmas book, which was fine with me as I am not reading it during the Christmas season. I thought the concept was interesting, and I loved the character development. It isn’t my favorite book of hers, but by the end I did leave overall happy with the story and the resolution. The grief element of this book was done so nicely after our main characters lost her father that she had a complicated relationship with. Stone does such a good job of bringing up these hard issues and finding resolution with them, which I appreciated. While this was not a light and fluffy read, I’m certainly still glad that I read it. I give the book 3.75/5 stars.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced reading copy of this book. All opinions within this review are my own.

I adored this romance! Emily Stone has a way of making her characters feel so real and genuine and knows how to pack an emotional punch. I loved Lexi’s self discovery and her coming to terms with the death of her father and her relationship with him. I loved the rivals to lovers that her and Theo had. I found their chemistry to be perfectly done. I also really loved the whole travel aspect of the book and loved seeing all of these places through the characters’ eyes. Overall, a fantastic read. And even though it’s technically a Christmas romance, it takes place over the course of a year and I think can be read at anytime.

Emily Stone is one of my must-read authors, and she didn’t disappoint in this winter’s novel. Classic enemies to friends, I really enjoyed these characters and the way they were pulled together. Worth a read.
The only thing that had me disconnected was the actual wishing jar (not a spoiler). It felt forced.
