Not realistic at all, but a nice story anyway.

A little boy has no one to play with and is feeling lonely, he is longing for a best friend. Bear is very shy and never even says hello until one day when he sends a paper boat with a message to the boy. They decide to play together and at first have trouble finding a game but then find something they both want to do. Bear has to hibernate but the boy doesn't understand and really misses his friend. He is very excited when Bear comes back in spring.
This is a great book with endless cross-curricular activities linking to PSHE and friendship and hibernation and the seasons.
A fantastic book for FS-year 3 children.
