I enjoyed most of this book. Near the end though - eh. I'm not sure why but when the story actually got to the part it was building to, I was a little disappointed in the dialogue and the path taken. Overall though well written.

There’s an unexpected twist to the narrative. The first 2/3rds is captivating and fun, last 1/3rd gets a bit slower and the story line changes. A good reflection on one’s life, and not the typical narrative of a woman’s life.

I started reading this book, having no idea what it was about. I saw it on a couple of different lists of books about and by women and the synopsis sounded interesting. By the time my turn for the library audiobook came around, I had forgotten what it was even about! Ha. It was such a great listen, with a wonderful audiobook narrator. Vivian is such a well-rounded character and so very interesting!

I enjoyed this book, I saw mixed reviews on this because of an anticlimactic plot. I understand that for some that could be a hold up but I truthfully found it so nice to hear almost a memoir style. The main characters have such a development to them and it was a very calming book in a way. It's less focused on a romance and more about maturing and being present to live a good life. I love Elizabeth Gilbert and am glad I read this book of hers!

What I truly enjoyed in this book was the way the main character takes you through all of her adventures since her late teenage years, till her last years. It was something enjoyable and relaxing to read, although still engaging and exciting. The vibe is something different than anything else I’ve read before.
