I really enjoyed the audio version of this. The Scottish accents really helped flush out the story and made it feel more real. I thought some of the twists were pretty obvious, however overall it was a fun enough listen that I’ll forgive it.

An absolute laugh. I did so greatly enjoy this book actually to a surprising degree! Not that I didn't think I would enjoy it but I tempered expectations.

This is a bit too "women's fiction" for my tastes, but it's fine. Three women writers go on a retreat in Scotland to write a book together. There is a writers retreat taking place and some old mysteries to investigate at a gothic castle. Someone ends up dead, and the hot cop might think one of the three of them has something to do with it, so they band together to figure it out.

I didn't much care about the mystery (and found the solution a bit obvious). I probably will skip on the others from this trio.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. I purchased for my library and shared.

This one had so much potential. I was really excited about the premise and loved the idea of three authors—Emma, Kat, and Cassie—teaming up for a revenge plot against one man. Each POV felt distinct, and I enjoyed how their unique backgrounds and personalities brought something different to the story. The audiobook narration also stood out, with different voice actors for each woman, which helped keep the perspectives clear and engaging.

That said, the book started off strong and then... kind of lost its way. The pacing dragged in the second half, and by the end, the plot didn’t feel like it fully came together. What started as a sharp, fun concept ended up feeling a bit muddled and flat.

If you’re a fan of the authors or like books about writers behaving badly, it might still be worth a try—but for me, it didn’t quite deliver on its promise.
