The sections 'Ring of Fire' and 'Black Dog Songs' were wonderful and fun. I much admire Jarnot's willingness just to dive in and go with the poem. But the first section and the last, longish poem were a bit off-putting and difficult to penetrate either intellectually or emotionally. In fact I'd begun this book long ago and put it down because I felt completely left out. Glad I made it through this time. I recommend it if only to see what poetry can do.

This collection of poems from the post language school does some really interesting linguistic acrobatics. From collage to erasure, to unexpected anaphora, there is a lot to digest in Jarnot's work. I will be looking into more of her work ASAP.
