We had a little bit of teaser for book 2 at the end of book 1 and while it made me more excited to see how this would play out, it was a totally different timeline than I expected. Tripp Hollis is an amazing book boyfriend! Tripp and Magnolia had some mutual pining for years but would never admit it. They both have had some terrible events in their life that shaped who they are.

When something changes and they finally admit to their feelings, we finally get to see Tripp and Magnolia as a couple. Tripp went from being anti relationship to being 110% committed to making it work. Magnolia was a fun heroine. She was sassy and wild and said what was on her mind. Together they were magic, they were so good together and I loved their interactions.

I did find it weird that the main trope that this book was promoted with, didn’t happen until much farther into the story. But when it happens, they both handle it with grace and maturity. Magnolia didn’t hide her pregnancy and just laid it all out there for Tripp while Tripp was already ready to step in as daddy.

The narration for this book was really good. The narrators were perfect for our main characters. I just love the way Savannah plays the sweet small town girl. Aiden absolutely slayed his performance, especially with the emotional prologue.

Very cute! A little confused by the ex situation, kinda came out of nowhere. Still a good read!

Overall, I did like this story and especially the mmc Tripp, but I had a little bit of trouble with the pacing and the percentage of the book the the mc's were not an actual couple, thanks to the fmc Magnolia. I hate when a character makes a unilateral decision for "the good" of the other character. And Magnolia did this even when Tripp was making it abundantly clear that he didn't care and still wanted to be with her. I really loved seeing Noah and Fisher again since I adored their book and the little plot twist at the end in regards to Noah and Magnolia's families was super cute.
fast-paced

I was really excited to read this one after book one. I LOVED Tripp. He's perfection. I didn't like how he just seemed to change. It was like a switch hit and he was so different with Magnolia. I didn't hate it but it was just weird. With that said, that man can do no wrong in my book!

One thing I disliked was the over-describing of movies and tv shows. So unnecessary and now I feel like I don't need to finish watching Hart of Dixie.
