2.75 Stars. This felt drug out to me, though I did not expect it, I did start to get bored.

Aburrido. La protagonista igual que en su otra saga, se supone que es muy avispada pero toma las peores decisiones por los peores motivos. El misterio consiste solamente en mantener en secreto tales decisiones.

I am obsessed with this whole series!

I know that there is one more book coming out but I truly think Kerri Maniscalco should keep writing these. There are so many other famous crimes she could venture into.

I love everything about this series! The historical factors, the banter, even the romance.
There is a series I never want to end.

Full review will be up on my blog March 8th @230 c.s.t. Be sure to check it out!

Escaping From Houdini by Kerri Maniscalco is the third book in the Stalking Jack the Ripper series. This book was not as great as the first two books. I still really enjoyed the murder mystery aspect of this book. However, I hated the "love triangle" mess added into this book. I also hated that Thomas was not as present due to the stupid love triangle shit. I would have loved this more if the love triangle aspect was removed.

I absolutely loved Thomas and I thought he carried this book (when he was present). He always makes me laugh and I adore him. This is why I was annoyed with Audrey and her plan with the Ringmaster. I did want to throttle the Ringmaster many times in this book. I did not understand some of the actions Audrey made in regards with said Ringmaster.

However, the murder mystery was very entertaining. That plot and Thomas were the main reasons that I was able to finish this book. I still think this series is worth reading, however book 3 is my least favorite so far. I am excited to read the last book in this series!

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5

HAPPY READING

This book definitely irritated me, as you’ve probably gathered from other reviews. However, Thomas Cresswell still tipped the rating to 3 stars. Yes, Audrey was foolish and Yes, the circus was not my thing. But! Cresswell id devilishly divine and I can’t wait to read the next!!

Honestly I'm torn between "it was okay" and "i liked it" - because it was, simply not as exciting as I wished but also not as horrible as I feared it would be, considering the reviews I've read. Does this installment does the series justice? Clearly no and I agree, the love triangle was absolutely unecessary - however, I can understand that after all the events you're suddenly doubting that the one future is the one for you.

It wasn't bad, it wasn't good - or should I rather say, it wasn't as exciting as "Hunting Prince Dracula", which I loved and devoured. But the book kept me going, even if it was bland at some parts. With the many new added characters it feels like the author wanted to introduce many interesting characters with intgruiging backstories and mysteries, a mysterious carnival does give you the oportunity to do that but in the end they're more like cosmetics ...
While we speak of the carnival, the book should've better be named "Escaping from the Devil" or "Escaping from Mephisto" or something like that because while Houdini is on the title we get to know and see very little of him. One would think when you have to escape from Houdini, that there would be more to him, but in the end we get to know almost nothing about him
Spoileror Liza and him, but nobody ever asked how the two even met. I don't know why I'm so pressed about it but I'd like to know more about their relationship.
