I really did love this book; it was definitely 4.5 stars for me. I really related to Adam, which is very impressive because I am neither a man nor a parent, and rarely relate to either of those types of characters. His voice felt honest and very real, and the weaving in of his father's and the Coventry Cathedral's stories was expertly done. I wish there had been a little more at the end about the Cathedral, even.
The details make the work feel honest and real, but I felt the same thoughts were covered over and over making feel redundant and I lost interest.

4.5 stars - this resonated with me on many levels - as a parent, as an over thinker, a worrier etc what a brilliant novel - a simple premise yet thoroughly engaging and beautifully written. If I'm still reflecting on this story in a few weeks I may bump up to 5 stars.

I really enjoyed the writing of this novel. There were passages that were so brutally honest and relatable that I couldn’t help but laugh at my own existence.
