The Affair is an eight part serial by Beth Kery. I was lucky enough to get the entire serial at one time to read, rather than have to wait for each installment. Serials have been huge lately, and I will admit that I am not the most patient of people. So for me, I was glad to have them all available at one time. If you have been holding off on this one until they were all released though, you are in luck because Week 8 is the conclusion of Emma and Montand's story.

Emma Shore first meets the handsome Michael Montand when she begins working at his mansion helping to care for his sick stepmother. Emma is shocked by things that she witnesses, but can't help but find herself drawn to him. She is afraid of what she sees, but yet she also finds herself wanting to open herself up to the possibilities that Montand offers her. Montand knows that he can only offer a woman sex, but for the first time he begins to want more with Emma. She agrees to see where things between them will go, but she will determine the length of time their affair will go on. They compromise on five weeks, and things between them start to get complicated. As both Montand and Emma find themselves developing deep feelings for one another, there are truths and secrets revealed leaving them both to wonder what the future holds. Can they possibly have something together beyond the agreed upon five weeks, or will there be too many things standing in the way of them being together?

I liked Montand a lot. He was sexy and mysterious, and I loved getting to see as each of his layers was revealed. He had moments when he was so sweet and caring, but then he was also protective and alpha. He had been through so much, and you could really see the effect it had on him. I loved seeing him show Emma that she was more than she ever thought, and he never let her get away with thinking that she wasn't good enough or pretty enough. He was exactly what she needed, and I liked how encouraging he was. Emma was the same for Montand. She showed him how to loosen up and what it was like to really live. Because of everything that he had been through he was often serious and seemed stoic. But she was able to bring out another side to him, and I liked seeing how perfect these two were for each other. I thought that they were really hot together, and I loved how Montand was patient with Emma and eased her into his lifestyle and what he wanted from her. But these two had such a strong emotional connection, and I really enjoyed seeing that develop between them the most of all.

Overall, I am so glad that I was able to read all of these parts without waiting in between. I really think that if I had been forced to wait in between installments that I wouldn't have enjoyed the story as much. We really got to see both Emma and Montand grow and change over the course of The Affair, and I think it wouldn't have been as noticeable had I read these separately. I liked the characters a lot though, and I felt like this story was unique and different. The characters were deep and I really felt like they were real. I highly recommend this one, and I think that fans of romance will really enjoy this story. It has everything I look for in a good romance, and I enjoyed the steamy parts just as much as the emotional ones. I look forward to more from Beth Kery in the future.

This was a re-read for me and I still love this book!!

I love Emma and Vanni! Emma is this down-to-earth girl who just seems to love life. Vanni is closed off to the world because he's had a lot of loss in his life. Emma starts to pull Vanni back into life and is unsure how to deal with it. These two are really on fire together.

I didn't like the part with Emma's sister Amanda and her boyfriend (ex) Colin. I thought all that was a hot mess. I'm not sure I would've forgiven Amanda. I can slightly understand her reason, but I still don't agree with it.

I picked this book on a lark. Not really knowing which direction I wanted to go in for my next read. I stumbled upon this selection and GOD am I glad I did. It's not often a book hit all the points I need it to in order to make it a perfect reading experience, but The Affair did so. It was as sweet as it was sexy. As endearing as it was intriguing. The plot was compelling with a driving tempo that kept me wanting to know what happened next. And even though there were parts that were predictable it definitely kept me on my toes. I loved Vanni and Emma together. Their passion was thrilling to watch unfold. My only wish is that there was more more more. I just want to read more of these two.

This book is the perfect beach read. I just wish I had a relaxing day at the beach in order to do just that. Instead, work and life disrupted me enough that these 500 pages took me a week to finish.

I loved how Vanni and Emma played off of each other. She's the hospice nurse with an innocent and kind heart. He's the brooding millionaire with the weight of the world on his shoulders.

While she cares for one of his ailing relatives, he becomes quite captivated by her. once the two strike up a conversation, all bets are off, and they want more time together. The only problem... Vanni doesn't do anything long-term.

Emma enforces a time limit on their affair, but as the weeks pass, they both find their limit and end hard to stick by. After a blissful time together, will they walk away, or break down the walls that hold them back?

I'm a sucker for a book with a tortured soul as my main man, and Vanni Montand was no exception. Emma had a purity and sweetness about her that made him better when he was in her presence. I knew they'd have obstacles to overcome, but when you find yourself on the coast of France in a rustic estate right at the water's edge, there's little to object to or overthink.

At first glance my thoughts was that this was going to be a very long book but Beth does a great job of delivering an engaging storyline where you don't realize its close to 5oo pages. The characters were thoroughly fleshed out and I loved seeing the build between both characters and i found myself falling in love with them. Michael Montand is a sexy alpha male who oozes sex appeal and Emma is an all around girl who awakens under Michael's touch! This book delivered a great mix of hot sexy scenes that will burn up your pages and a touch of erotica in one little package that i couldn't put down. This is a must read, i mean what more could you ask for? Great characters and a great storyline make for a great afternoon read!

Loved it!

The book takes place over the course of 8 weeks. It felt like that’s how long it might take to finish reading it as well. Not good. I didn’t love the characters, the writing itself was ok, and god, there was so much sex, it became repetitive and boring.
