This story absolutely broke my heart. My attention was held from beginning to end. I’ve heard a lot of this author and needless to say I wasn’t disappointed. At its core it’s a story about coming of age with a immigrant parent, but it’s also holding onto the magic of old traditions.

It was very touching. The main character's disregard for his mother reminded me of how I act at times towards my own. Seeing that made me decide to change how I treat her at such times.
