Grappling with the question of what is personhood in a whole new way, in addition to that of what is family. Also more gate-space physics! I really enjoyed this book, though I wish
we had seen the matching scene and heard a first person voice from the combined person of Reet/Qven
I really hope we get that in a future book.

(Spoiler free review) I read the Ancillary series a few years ago, and i enjoyed the series though I thought the second book really dragged. However, I'm happy to report this is my favorite book from Leckie that I've read so far. I can see how you'd be confused if you haven't read the Ancillary series, but I would still recommend it to most any sci-fi fan if youre willing to give it a try. There are great characters and development, interesting concepts, even a bit of political intrigue.
I have some small criticisms but they are pretty minor (and I'm very picky), so this still gets a full five stars from me.
