Chosen at Nightfall

I was really disappointed in her choice of boys, he was a total creeper. I was really hoping she would pick neither of them, but alas, that never happens in these novels. The final confrontation was a bit... short. I was expecting a big huge battle with numerous people fighting with her and the entire confrontation took like 3 pages.

Such a great ending to a amazing series.
This book hit me right in the feels, people. It was fantastic, and filled with so much more of everything than the previous books.
This book started out perfect, starting a couple of weeks after the last one ends. There's already so much going on, and it's pretty fast-paced at first. Later on, the book slows down, but just so the plot can thicken. So much starts to happen, and then everything flames up. All of you questions from the previous books are answered, and it all adds up to be something so amazing. Mystery filled this book up, and so did the many surprises. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I couldn't wait to know what happened next. Towards the end, everything comes smoothly together.
This book, and the series in general, was filled with so much adventure, love, hate, plot twists, romance, spook things, and hot guys. It was all pretty perfect.
Kylie kicked some ass in this book. Now, she did get on my nerves a little, mostly about her romance life and about all the doubts she had about things, but once the book picked up, and she started to realize her mistakes, she really was a great female protagonist. I really loved her, and I thought she was so strong-willed, protective, and loving. She also put others before herself, and that is what all main characters should do.
Lucas was amazing. I mean, you get to see so many new sides of him in this book, and I fell so much in love with him. He is so fierce and protective and strong. I really loved him as a male character.
Derek wasn't the best in this book, but he was still alright. I mean, he matured more in this book, albeit his was a little clingy. But towards the end, he really shapes up and I guess I really do like him.
But...I do have a confession to make...I hate Holiday, the Camp Leader. I mean, I really loved in the first book, but after that...nope. I liked the concept of her, I really did. And when it came to her romance with the sexy Vampire Burnett, whom I loved so much (he was so awesome, totally protective, and just an amazing man. Such a roll model.), I was all in. But when it came to her talks with Kylie, I found her so annoying. I hated all the doubts she had and the things she hid. I'm glad she ended up happy in the end, but that still doesn't mean I liked her.
Other than her, I loved all the other characters. I loved Miranda's spunk, Della's attitude, Perry's humor...I loved them all.
So, this series was totally amazing, and I'm glad I read it.
I can't wait for the sequel series, which is Della's own story. I'm not ready to give up the adventures of Shadow Falls. And I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Best conclusion. rapped up the series perfectly.

After four other wonderfully fun books, the fifth book in the Shadow Falls series, Chosen at Nightfall, has hit the scene and answered the plethora of unanswered questions that have built up throughout the series. C.C. Hunter presents us with Kylie Galen in all her complicated glory, something that has become a staple throughout the series. Whether its her inexplicable connection to ghosts, her insanely messed up love life, or the never-ending revelations about her abilities, Kylie is always sure to leave you laughing, sad, irritated, or just plain bewildered. In a way, you’re left feeling much like Kylie must. It’s been a fun ride that I’m sad to see end, though not everything lived up to expectations.

For Chosen at Nightfall, Kylie took an especially sharp turn into Angst City. While she made excellent strides toward learning more about her abilities, she also spent a lot (and I do mean A LOT) of time mulling over the craziness of her love life. Rest assured, however, that Kylie finally, FINALLY makes a decision. Can I get a hallelujah?! If you think I’m telling you, though, you’re sadly mistaken. My lips are zipped. We also get to know Kylie’s long-lost grandfather a bit more in Chosen at Nightfall. Upon my first impression, I thought him to be a tyrant. Later, after I had learned more about him and his mindset, I settled on paranoid. Either way, he is a very difficult character that loaned a lot of much-needed non-romantic tension.

Also within the pages of Chosen at Nightfall is the big fight, the culmination of all the conflict incited throughout the first four books. As the anticipation built and built, I began to become more excited by the possibilities. I was geared up for a huge fight scene of epic proportions. While there was some epic involved, I couldn’t help myself. The first thought that came to mind was, “That’s it?” Don’t get me wrong, there’s some good stuff there, things that will leave your jaw hanging nearly to the floor. I think the problem is that it felt a bit rushed. The conflict wasn’t allowed to build to its full potential, resulting in a bizarre turn of events and a surprisingly low key end game. I truly didn’t know what to think after it was all over. Added to that the Deathly Hallows epilogue-like ending and I was left a little conflicted.

All in all, I’ve enjoyed my stay at Shadow Falls. With its kooky supernatural elements, moments of humor, copious drama, and truly menacing villains, you can’t help but fall in love with the series. Chosen at Nightfall, while having its issues, wrapped up the series in a pretty nice bow when all is said an done. Were there things I would have liked to see done differently? Yes. However, it was the world I have come to enjoy and that brought all the fun back out to play one last time. Now that camp is over, I will remember fondly all those hours spent reading about Kylie Galen and her truly bizarre life.

A lovely end to a fun series.

Ok. I officially loved it. I loved the ending solo much!!!!! But, really Kylie? REALLY?!?!? Pick the one who caused you soooo much pain? Lets see, how much pain Lucas caused opposed to Derek
Lucas:
1. He got engaged to a girl.
2. He met with the girl when he went to see his father. He kissed her once
3. He did it all behind Kylie's back.
4. He wants her to be were.
5. He won't really accept any other supernatural.
6. He set pack business before her.
7. His family is blaming her for everything he has done to ruin his life.

Thats all I can remember of what Lucas did. Okay, now Derek:
1. He pushed her away and didn't know what he was doing.
2. He reads her emotions (Pretty crappy bad thing if you ask me.)
3. He slept with Ellie, his best friend.

Ugh. Why couldn't have she just picked Derek?! She loved both of them. They both loved her, but Derek admitted it to her first. Plus, Derek is HOT. Lucas is okay.

The whole Derek-Kylie couple thing was my hope since after Derek and her had the fight. I started crying in some of the earlier books for Derek. I felt soo bad for him. The girl of his dreams was dumping him for a butt head (Lucas). I just was really disappointed.

Anyways, the book was good. I would have had Kylie end up with Derek. Holiday and Burnett are so adorable!!!!! AHHH!!! And Miranda and Perry!!!! I am sooo happy with all the other couples in the book. And Jenny has to get away from Derek!!!!

I'm so glad the chameleons were starting to work things out. And because of that, Kylie's mom is starting to realize who Kylie really is.

This is the final book in the Shadow Falls series and I really loved this book and how it ended. Overall I was very pleased with the whole series and I would recommend this for people who like young adult books with a paranormal theme and it had a little bit of everything from action, drama, romance, coming of age story.
