A bit better than the first.

I love the Luna sisters! It was giving Disney’s protection program but with corsets and quills.

::sigh:: O pregúntale a él venir??
Gato negro energia.

Gracias a Google Translate para auydarme escribir esto :) An attempt was made, please excuse any grammar issues as Spanish is (CLEARLY) not my first language. Took a few courses in college, trying to dust of the pipes (if you will) and improve. In English shorthand, this book is worth your time.

I just didn’t like this one as much as the first. Neither of the main characters stood out to me, particularly Sirius. He felt off kilter from who he was in the first book, like he was a general romance MMC. Also felt like not a lot of plot, and the pacing of their relationship was weird. It went from 0 to 100 very quickly.
I was not expecting this book to have more sex scenes than Daydream.
I’m still really keen for the third book though.

I received a free copy of this book thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group; all opinions expressed are exclusively my own.

Apparently Isabel and The Rogue is the second book in the Luna Sisters series, but it did not hinder my enjoyment of this story! Based in history, this romance was sweet and satisfying. The historical basis is deeply interesting in recognizing the affect British colonialism had on the world, the repercussions of nationalism, and the ethics of "acquiring" historical art and treasures. I especially enjoyed the recognition that Mexico was colonized by Spain; Isabel is mentioned to take after her Purépecha family. Really, if you want a historical romance with some whitewash removal, this is a VERY good time.

For sensitive readers, there are scenes of graphic sexuality, references to war, PTSD, and referenced childhood neglect.
