To say I care about you is an inustice to the thunderstorm of emotions I feel whenever you're near. Or not near. Whenever I think of your name or imagine your face.
You know those books that you finish and immediately wonder if you'll ever feel this way about one of them again? Isabel and the Rogue is one of them. I'm sitting here with all my emotions for this book leaking out of my eyes, slack jawed, and stunned and so full of emotion and gratitude.
This book was perfect. Every single detail was thought through. I'm someone for whom the little details make or break a book for me—and here, they beyond elevated the story.
I'll have more to say another time for but for now I''m going to bask in the sheer joy this book brought me.

I had the best time with this book. I loved the romance. It was so delightfully swoony. The characters were dynamic and I really enjoyed the historical elements.

Isabel and the Rogue is a spy vs spy, rivals to lovers, wallflower and rake, historical romance.
Isabel Luna Valdés is in England after escaping Mexico with her sisters during the French occupation. Isabel is also a spy for the Mexican government and meets Captain Sirius Dawson while searching a British aristocrat’s office.
Sirius is a charming rake. But that is not all. A veteran of the Crimean war, Sirius struggles with his memories and his fame. His need to give back sees him build his country home into a community for other veterans and work for the home office.
As Sirius and Isabel continue to cross paths a friendship, respect, attraction, and love grow.
When Isabel finally gets the chance to return to Mexico, Sirius must decide what that means for him and for their relationship.
This is an adventurous, funny, very sexy, inclusive, interesting, diverse, and moving story. And it’s so romantic.
Plus you get colonization and museum critiques, references to and use of gorgeous poetry and literature, respect for language diversity, a hot air balloon ride, and women who speak up for themselves. And this cover! 😍😍
Highly recommend!

Enjoyed a lot of book, and felt pacing was quick for much of it. Last 10% a little slow.
