Adrian and Skylar have been two of my favourite characters in this series so far! Then first three books you get little bread crumbs of them, but it just wasn’t enough!

I am obsessed with these two, their story had so much emotion, it was perfection.

Skylar is an amazingly talented and B.A. heroine who has had some trouble with past relationships. Her and Adrian fall into each other hard and fast but are faced with so many speed bumps along the way, Adrian’s ex-wife being one of them. Through all the OW drama, Mafia Drama and page burning chemistry, you cannot help but devour their story.

- The expression on her face changes, and it crushes me. It's pain, as if I've somehow betrayed her. "If you trusted me, you would know I could handle your truth. You would tell me everything and have faith that I would still be here. When you got done telling me, I would still be in love with you. All of you, Adrian, even the pieces you think aren't lovable."

I love Skylar. I love Adrian. I love the girl group. I can’t wait for Selena and Obrecht’s book. But most importantly I can’t wait for Hailee and Liam. I’m there biggest fan. This book made me cry in sadness and frustrations. I loved this book and it was a great addition to the series.

No matter the heat, chemistry and love Adrain feels in his heart his need for personal redemption still drives a wedge between him and Skylar. Will they get the HEA they deserve?

Vicious Protector is the fourth book in the Mafia Wars series and I was more than ready to get back into this series. I have really enjoyed the first three books and its really the next two I was super eager to explore. If you love the mafia, and if you haven’t read this series yet, its a definite must. Maggie Cole is brilliant in her world-building and it works so well that even non mafia fans can get behind it and enjoy it especially if you love aspects of suspense and mystery. In this story we basically have the setup of where our hero Adrian and our heroine Skyler, and seeing when they first met and where tensions really started to build for them. I have been wanting Adrian’s story from the very beginning. I do like that the first six books are all surrounded by similar events and you can jump in if you like. So we do get to see similar events from the past few books but see it from Adrian and Skyler’s perspectives. Their romance is fiery hot and that is all I can say. haha They definitely are both stubborn and opinionated individuals which cause both good and bad in their relationship. I really admired the way that they work through their issues and don’t give up on each other.

This book I will be honest was a bit of a struggle for me in the first half. I don’t know if it was just me or what, but I had the most difficult time getting into it and I just wanted more from this one. I also felt that these two needed to get their heads together, because while their story is beautiful; it could have been way less stressful if they had just admitted what they were feeling for one another and not let ego get in the way as it often does with these two, I did admire Adrian even if he was too stubborn at times. I didn’t like the way he kept pushing Skler away, it just got too much at times and I just wanted to shake him. But I did love that Skyler keeps pushing and standing her ground even when it hurts. So while this won’t be a favorite of the series, I found it to be a solid addition to the series and it definitely had me eager for his brother’s book!!

4.5/5 stars.
I love this. Adrian and Skylar were so good together.
Adrian is precious but that stubbornness got on my nerves quite a bit. I understood why but it came to a point that was too much.

With that being said I still love Adrian. I think he had a lot to get over and Skylar helped him in small ways even without realizing it.
Skylar had her own insecurities to get over but she still made the right choice and I applaud her for her. She’s a strong women.
Loved everything about their sexy times, their chemistry was soooo good!

Glad the evil witch is gone! I swear if I could I would jump in the book and kill her myself with my bare hands, that’s how much she got on my nerves. I loath her with a passion that’s for sure even after her demise.
Love Adrian and Obrecht mom, she’s adorable but also resilient.
I’m worried about Selena and Obrecht too so naturally I’m starting Savage Tracker right away. This plot cliffhanger sure does it’s job

Hot

Adrian and Skylar have major trust issues with true deep love but is love enough when Adrian won't open up about his work and it makes Skylab questions everything she believes in and is love enough. Maggie Cole knows how to spin a tale and you will laugh and almost cry along and fall in love with stories. Another book that I could not put down. Now I have to wait another month for the next book in the series. If you haven't read anything by Maggie you need to.check out this whole series
