I was so looking forward to this book as I loved the others in the series. But, I struggled to get through it. It just seemed to lack substance.

This is my favorite so far which is no surprise to me since I've been wanting this story since book 1.
Jude has a lot on his hands still even after his work to help himself with therapy and all that however nightmares are never far away. It saddened me that he was so afraid of his reactions when having nightmares and because of that he never went for who he wanted the most, Lena.
Lena also had struggles since her encounter and the psycho Nathan, Evelyn's ex, but she is the sunshine of this small town so she felt that she needed to always be ok because the folks expect it.
I really loved Jude & Lena together. It felt like they should've happened a long time ago. I loved how Jude supported Lena or simply just knew what she needed.
At a certain point i knew who the culprit was however it didn't make sense to me why he would do it. With that said once everything was revealed, I was still somewhat surprised. The way Jude finds Lena was definitely a tense and sad moment... I just loved them so much.
Besides some bondage there was nothing else really which wasn't what i was expecting. From what Jude said, I thought he was more k!nky than Grant but I guess not. Also "good girl" was used one to many times in this and I never thought I would say this about a book but yeah. 😅
I'm excited to continue this series.

Best of the series

I’ve been waiting patiently for Jude & Lena’s story and it did not disappoint. It. Was. Everything (and more). I knew it was going to be a great story but I didn’t expect the spice (light bdsm) to be as good as it was

I've been waiting for Jude and Lena to get their romance, and they do not disappoint. They both have their own battles with PTSD, and they may just be more right for each other than either of them could've guessed. This pair has such good chemistry, and they're so likable you can't help but root for them. This is romantic suspense, and the suspense side of this one is a little creepy. It doesn't help that Lena is still dealing with past trauma, then there's this whole new threat. With a red herring or two, things get intense, and there's a pretty good twist as we get to the big reveal. So, to sum it up, we have another great romantic suspense in the Resting Warrior Ranch series - a series full of impossible-to-put-down romances.

I loved this story!!! It was soo good and pulled me in from beginning to end. I absolutely loved finally watching these two come together and taking that step. Lena and Jude have felt a connection and something between them but they have not made a move or had any conversation about it. Lena knew Jude was keeping his distance but just had the hope that they would come together and have their time. Jude didn’t know how to take the step to start something with Lena because of his nightmares that he still had, even though he knew Lena was the one for him. I loved watching him finally make that decision and go for it. They had their obstacles but after 3 years of getting to know each other once they made that choice to go there they went all in. This story had some action/intrigue as things just kept going wrong for Lena with her shop and baked goods. This story was great. I loved watching both Lena and Jude move forward in healing and having that solid foundation between them. I also loved the kink/control aspect that these two had in the bedroom. It just worked for them and I really enjoyed it. Great story, super excited for the next in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
