This will teach you more than you ever wanted to know about horse-drawn vehicles. And you will love every second of it. Instead of rolling your eyes and saying “of course she can”, Sophy is the rare breed of impossibly perfect FMC who will make you cheer when you find out she can shoot a gun better than any man. Yes, I know the love interest is her first cousin, but even that couldn’t ruin the delight of this book.

So perfectly cute! I've rediscovered my love for romance in the pages of a traditional and well written Regency. No other attempts to rekindle that enjoyment has worked--too spicy, too tropey, or too just plain stupid to believe. But the novels of Jane Austen and Georgette Heyer bring to light what romance means to me, and I'm glad we reconnected!

I really enjoyed this book - Sophy is a super fun character and I enjoy seeing her effect on the people around her! But I didn't love the antisemitism in the middle - and this book was written in the 1950s so no excuse!! Also, the ending was not 100% to my taste. So, 3 stars!
