Not the ending I had hoped for, but a good ending overall. The book itself took a bit to get into, but it was definitely an interesting read. Be warned though, it does get extremely graphic in some scenes containing sexuality and violence

uh honestly an incredible, gripping book. i have nothing to fault. i liked the characters and the story and the themes. the writing was well done and played like a movie and have insight into swedish culture actually. it was in that omniscient third person - close enough to  get into everyone’s heads but far enough to stay mostly away from their hearts.
a few late nights i’d get those creepy vibes and have the urge to close my blinds all the way. a few times i was really horrified by what i was reading, really disgusted.
the main murder mystery seemed to be book-ended by the “wennerström affair” which i personally didn’t find as entertaining but in stuck with it for mikael’s sake.
idk if this book was a “life changing favourite” so i think that’s why it’s just shy of 5 stars but a really really good book which, at the beginning, made me feel really cold from the snow 🌬❄️🐉
i’d love to reread without rushing through the juicy parts.

I listened to the audio book narrated by Simon Vance. It was riveting especially once it got going. In the beginning I had to concentrate more and focus to learn the characters. This isn't the typical genre I read or listen to. It did have graphic violence which isn't my thing, but there were admirable characters and an interesting plot. I also learned a little bit about Sweden which was interesting to me.
