The perfect 'commuter book'. It's a fun, light read with a heavy dose of classic Brit wit and dry humour. Be aware though, you'll really want to work in a second-hand book shop after reading this.

Every daydream about owning a bookshop in a quaint village? (Yeah, me too.) Read this first. :-)

A comic, charming, and interesting insight into the workings of The Book Shop. Having worked in a bookshop for three summers, encountering rude customers to rival those described by Shaun, it felt almost cathartic to see them captured in print in all their appalling glory. Wigtown has been added to the bucketlist. I hope it will still be running for many years to come!

Quippy sarcastic sardonic humor lays put the experience of running a little bookshop, interesting mini takes we've until the counts of books sold, books found, the local people and strangers in the shop. Quick and fascinating read

I really enjoyed it, I think it’s a special talent to captivate people with a diary…even the duller days grab you!
