informative lighthearted reflective slow-paced

My partner and I were going on a trip to Scotland and as per my request, we spent a day in Wigtown. I bought this book for the trip to really feel the community. I have to say, reading this in conjunction with my visit was a great choice. While reading, I could easily picture and recall the store and areas Shaun describes in this diary. I did find it slow and repetitive, but I enjoyed Shaun's bluntness and insights. I purchased the other two while I was there and will likely pick up any further ones he publishes.

“A customer came to the counter and said, ‘I’ve looked under the W section of the fiction and I can’t find anything by Rider Haggard’. I suggested they look under the H section.”

Perhaps I’m missing something but I’m bored. This booked failed the 100 pages rule for me.
