Despite a few red flags, I really came around to loving this book. I had low expectations given that it’s trope is an unreliable alcoholic female narrator, written by a man no less. Even my wildest guesses as to the twist could never have guessed what actually happened. I found it overall creative, capturing, and thrilling. The writing was a little lack lustre, and the main characters decisions were sometimes infuriating, but the story was nonetheless addicting. If you like a believable, no-nonsense story then this may not be for you. But if you want to suspend reality and indulge in a twisted serial killer story set at a haunted lake, this is certainly for you.
