This was so good! Firstly, I love that there were indicators for the present time and past events. It helped me to not get confused plus I could easily to back and connect dots as the plot unwound. I’m happy that all of my guesses of what was happening were absolutely wrong because I hate when thrillers are too predictable. I could’ve NEVER guessed any of this lol. I’m for sure gonna check out Riley’s other work.

Definitely not a book to read if you’re struggling with alcohol. I understand it as a focus of the novel but wasn’t expecting such a heavy feature. Would rather have focused more on the crime aspect. Not my favorite though the narrator was nice.

What a twist! I should know what to expect from Riley Sager by now, but it always catches me off guard. Loved this one.

I enjoyed this book enough to give it 4 stars. the plot twists were all crazy and unexpected. you'd think you had it figured out and then it jerked you the opposite direction. almost a little too many plot twists, could have done with one less, but that's ok. I didn't particularly enjoy the
supernatural element that came into play
but it slightly redeemed itself at the end.
I wish Casey died in the water, I would have liked to see how that played out lol

I really enjoyed the first part of this book where the main focus is the stalking and obsession. I was ready to rate the book 4 stars.

By about 2/3 of this book I was thinking to myself WTF did I just read - in the worst way possible. By 80% of the book I decided I couldn’t force myself to finish the book. I’ve never considered not finishing a book I’m this far along with but I don’t think there is any way this book could redeem itself. The paranormal essence came out of nowhere and it was like I was reading an entirely different book than I started with. I’ve never been so annoyed by a transition in a book.

So many useless details in the first part of the book that are still not relevant by 86% of the book. I’m calling it. Based on the other reviews I cannot even bring myself to care about the rest of this book.
