What a twist! I should know what to expect from Riley Sager by now, but it always catches me off guard. Loved this one.

I enjoyed this book enough to give it 4 stars. the plot twists were all crazy and unexpected. you'd think you had it figured out and then it jerked you the opposite direction. almost a little too many plot twists, could have done with one less, but that's ok. I didn't particularly enjoy the
supernatural element that came into play
but it slightly redeemed itself at the end.
I wish Casey died in the water, I would have liked to see how that played out lol

I really enjoyed the first part of this book where the main focus is the stalking and obsession. I was ready to rate the book 4 stars.

By about 2/3 of this book I was thinking to myself WTF did I just read - in the worst way possible. By 80% of the book I decided I couldn’t force myself to finish the book. I’ve never considered not finishing a book I’m this far along with but I don’t think there is any way this book could redeem itself. The paranormal essence came out of nowhere and it was like I was reading an entirely different book than I started with. I’ve never been so annoyed by a transition in a book.

So many useless details in the first part of the book that are still not relevant by 86% of the book. I’m calling it. Based on the other reviews I cannot even bring myself to care about the rest of this book.

There’s no such thing as happily ever after. There’s only happy for a short period of time before everything falls apart.

My third Sager thriller since December,  this may be my favourite in terms of technical construction. The plot builds steadily, opening up questions for the reader early on that will keep the reader guessing til the end.

Sager delivers excellent and satisfying twists, and for once a
supernatural
element that I hadn’t encountered in his previous works. He also has a knack for compelling sexual tension between his protagonist and their love interest. I just wish we’d gotten
a kiss

I can say with certainty that Riley Sager (Todd Ritter) is one of my favourite writers, and I look forward to reading more of his work.

I expected your standard mystery, this isn't it.

The first 3/4 of the book was fine, but the twist was out of left field and distracted from the remainder of the story. It created plot holes for
Casey and Boone's adventure. If Casey knew it was Len who murdered the girls, then why pin it on Boone? Of course, there are explanations for this, but none are rationale, like Len being a spirit lying in wake in the lake.
