wasn’t expecting the capitalist antagonist to be defeated so quickly but I’m not complaining lmao
Graphic: Suicidal thoughts, Kidnapping, Murder
Moderate: Classism
Minor: Suicide attempt
I remembered not really enjoying this book when our teachers had us read it as a group, and although I resonated with it more now, I still wasn't completely sold on it.
I loved the prose: the descriptions of nature are gorgeous, and you can really feel the setting that the author creates. On the flip side, however, I wasn't invested in the family, or any of the characters, at all. The writing is very brief and quick to the point, and even when I was closer to Winnie's age (I was a year older than her when I first read this, I'm now a few years between Miles and Jesse), I wished all of the characters had been developed more than they were. I didn't care about Winnie, or the family, even with their backstory. I didn't care about the threat of the mysterious man or the constable - and throughout the entire story, I wished there was more than there was. Every piece feels underdeveloped, like fragments of something that could be, and I can't help but feel like there could have been more to the story.
It's a very simple story, and while there is a moral in it, it simply isn't interesting enough to recommend.

ARC Review | Tuck Everlasting: The Graphic Novel
Thanks to @NetGalley for the chance to read this advanced copy in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt!
I enjoyed revisiting this timeless story in graphic novel form. The illustrations were adequate and helped bring the story to life, though I found myself wanting a bit more depth in places. Some of the original details felt a little lost in translation—but the heart of the story is still there.
Perfect for school-aged readers who are new to Tuck Everlasting, but as an adult, I still prefer the classic version. A lovely tribute to a beloved tale!

For as short as this book was it held a lot of wisdom, really enjoyed it and definitely had me crying at the end even though I knew how it ended (watched the movie first) worth the read for sure!
This was a very sweet and straightforward little story. I loved Babbitt's descriptions; they brought everything in the story to life. It's short, but the writing was so rich that it still felt like a satisfying read.
