This is a quick, thought provoking read for its intended audience. As an adult, I found it a little thin. I thought it wrapped up nicely, but that was probably my favorite part of the book.
I also found myself really appreciating that they aged Winnie up in the movie version. By far my least favorite part is where 17 (or 100+) year old Jesse asks 10 year old Winnie to marry him. It felt icky? And I think the book may have worked a lot better for me if Winnie was 15/16.

When I was a kid, this was my favorite book. I read it a bunch of times. Strangely, upon rereading it, I found that I didn’t remember much of the plot. Weird how that works when I felt like this book loomed large in my childhood. Anyway, I enjoyed reading it again, but it didn’t hold the same magic as it once did.
There is an extremely uncomfortable romance thing going on between the young girl and the like hundred year old 17 year old boy but that being said, this book gave me philosophical awareness. It may not be as good as I remember it being but I do value the gift of thought it gave me as a child. Great book other than the boy thing!

Solid four. Nice, quick story - read it in a day. Great premise. Ending left a lot of questions, in a good way.
What a beautifully written story! It totally transported me. I loved it.
