I liked the story, and I enjoyed the setting. I just wish there had been a bit more. Not sure more of what, just more. Gage and Holden had great chemistry, but damn, was Holden's father a cold hearted dick, or what? Also, I kept wanting the guy's mother to step up, or even just a phone call. I don't think he talked to her the whole time.

Both characters were just likeable.
It was a fun romantic read by an author I had never read before.
Can't wait for more Sawyer's Ferry stories.

Ohhhhhh this was so sweet. The good reviews for this are so deserved! A nice little nugget off a book that kind of reminded me of the show Virgin River on Netflix???? Without the overwhelming sadness lol.

Holden was sent to Sawyer’s Ferry, Alaska to convince his fathers former business partner, Gage, to rejoin the business. As expected, it didn’t go as planned. There was a definite enemies to lovers vibe going on because Gage hated Holden on principle solely for who his father was. But the chemistry and banter was off the charts from the start!!!

“Surgeon,” he confirmed.

“General?”

“Cardiothoracic.”

“Woulda pegged you for plastics,” I said with a smirk.

“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” he demanded.

Holden’s father was such a dick and left him with nothing in Alaska. And after a crazy trauma at the hospital suddenly Holden found himself as a doctor in Sawyer’s Ferry and in a friends with benefits situation with Holden. I loved how despite their age gap and lifestyle differences they really just got along so easily. The reason this was four stars for me though was because Gage felt one dimensional at times. I wanted to know more about his past but also maybe he was just a simple dude that liked being a doctor in the wild of Alaska

"He kissed me like he'd die if he didn't, like his one truth path in life was to make me insane with his mouth alone."

I got the chance of reading this beauty in advance and ... oh boy, what a treat that was. Enemies to lovers? Some very sexy times? Smart remarks that add the perfect mixture of comic relief? Sold. Sold. And, sold again.

Gage is a surgeon who cut all ties New York and the company he had helped built to work in a small Alaskan town. He's perfectly happy living his day to day life that isn't quite as up-beat as New York had been but works perfectly for him. He's fine with how things are. That is until..the past he left behind shows up in the ice town he now calls home...

Holden, who has an admittedly asshole of a father, is sent to wrangle up Gage. An impossible task it seems but one that turns into something so beautiful and sexy at the same time. Stepping foot in Sawyer's Ferry is the start of things Holden would of never dreamed of happening in New York. It's truly the start of him finding himself, I believe. And, being able to read about how he grows from outside his father's controlling clutch is about as wonderful and satisfying as it gets. Well, besides reading about him being in Gage's controlling clutch because that right there is a whole new form of art...

Going into this I first thought that their relationship happened so much faster than I imagining when reading the first few chapters...but, it didn't take long to find out that worked beautifully for this set of men. For their story. Their progression is fast, yes, but the way it all happens is beautiful. The way you get to know them both, with and without one another, is truly something. I can honestly say I enjoyed every moment of it.

...Also, I wasn't kidding about those humor filled remarks...their are quite a few lines that'll leave you snorting.

And, to top it off you have some great secondary characters that'll make for some interesting stories...(Logan...just saying...)

Overall, the plot was great. The characters were amazing. It was just a beautiful read and hey...can you really go wrong with reading about two sexy surgeons have some great sexy, "annoying" one another with smart remarks and perhaps even falling....for one another?

I will definitely be on the look out for more books in this series...that's for sure. Thank you so much for the fantastic read, Cate!! ♡

This was a good book for the most part. Holden and Gage have a good story. It's easy to tell that they have an attraction to each other right off the bat. They have some really great banter as well.

I felt like this story was really rushed and it felt like it was missing things. I'm not sure if it was the constant jumping in time or what. I mean they'd go to bed and then it was 2 months later. But we still didn't have any more info. Not to mention everything with Holden's dad. Something just never seemed to make sense with that.

The epilogue was nice and they do get a pretty decent ending. I am curious about Logan's book because I did really like him in this one.

This book was short, sweet, and exactly what I was looking for at the time. I read it in a couple of hours. There was very little angst and drama in this one. The MCs, while they tore up the sheets, also *gasp* talked to one another. There was very little time agonizing over things before it was brought up in a few pages. I liked the pace and I liked the romance. Although I guess this could be placed in the enemies to lovers category there was very little page time spent on enemies and much more on lovers. Overall this one's worth a read and I look forward to Logan's turn.

This is the cutest book I've read in my whole life and the moment I saw that book #2 is about Logan you might as well bury me 10 feet underground because this series is going to be the death of me.
