This could be a good book for introduction to the library for older kids. It talks about loving books.

This is such a great book! I especially like it for Reluctant Readers! What a joy to read, and I do love a good play on words (Conan the Barbarian = Ronan the Librarian).
Also, "Swords make TERRIBLE bookmarks" is great advice!!!

Ronan the raiding barbarian becomes the raiding, READING Barbarian in this adorable text with incredibly fun illustrations. This is a great read-aloud book that will likely have your kiddos asking to read it again and again.

For: Viking/book fans; readers looking for a funny book about inspiring the love of reading.
Possible red flags: feelings of despair and being left out.

Vikings are super popular and this is the first picture book that I have seen that discusses invading and raiding. Ronan caught the reading addiction bug. I thought this story really described what happens when you get lost in a good book. Reading is fun and this lets you know that you can add it to your daily activities.
