Vagam između 3 i 4, ali imajući u vidu da je ovo delimično autobiografsko delo a kako sam slaba na tužne sudbine, odlučujem se za veću ocenu.

U prvom delu svojevrsne trilogije, Nensi Mitford nam donosi priču o porodici Radlet. Glavna junakinja je svakako Linda, stvorena od romantike i hedonizma. Najvećim delom romana pratimo Lindu i njene tri ljubavne veze, ali moram priznati da je to posle nekog vremena postalo samo zamorno. Sporedni likovi poput Dejvija i lorda Merlina, pa čak i namćorasti teča Metju su mi bili neuporedivo interesantniji i smešniji.

Najveći problem koji sam imala s ovim romanom jeste to što apsolutno nisam kupila tu veliku ljubav između Linde i Fabrisa. Nensi je Fabrisa modelovala prema svojoj velikoj ljubavi, Gastonu Palevskom, i ako ima iole stvarne sličnosti između njih dvojice - Nensi, dušo, žalim slučaj.

Ovo je svakako bilo zanimljivo štivo i pročitaću i narednu knjigu iz trilogije pošto se bavi potpuno drugim setom likova.

I had a lot of fun with this - barring the gut punch of the last page or so - and all the characters are vividly drawn and memorable, if not lovable. Enjoyed being immersed in a period/genre I’m not as familiar with.
