I think to say that this is a book that sticks with you long after finishing is an understatement to the emotionally compelling story that Reynolds captured. This is a story that is impossible to put down once you get going, but you fine that slower you ingest the words the harder the impact truly is. I believe that everyone is entitled to like different things, media and all, but this is truly a book that everyone should read; and if you did so and tell me you didn’t like it, I would lose a great amount of respect in your opinion.

kinda hard to follow; maybe since i didnt read the original? did not know there was another version but still amazing!!! really paints such a good picture of how it feels to want revenge after something traumatic happens. the artwork was spectacular as well.

short summary is that basically. the main character, will, his brother was shot and he goes on trying to find who did it so that he can get revenge. while simultaneously hes being visited by ghosts i think? and his uncle who try to help him with his grieving process.

just because something bad happens, doesn’t mean you have to stoop to their level, even though it hurts

I’ve just been hit upside the head.
Long Way Down is excellent as a novel.
But the power of the images in this graphic novel adaptation—
the way Jason Reynolds’ words and Danica Novgorodoff’s illustrations complement each other— gives a fresh and hard-hitting urgency to the original.

Thanks to Simon & Schuster and to NetGalley for the advance readers copy.

I loved this as a graphic novel. I think that students would like it as well. The story moved well to graphic form.
